Next week will see the airing of the brand new PokerStars Bounty Stars of Poker TV Show and by all accounts it looks worth tuning in for.
The PokerStars Bounty Stars of Poker will be hitting the TV waves next week; consisting of six 2 hour long episodes featuring some of the best amateur poker players slogging it out against some of the best professional players and most well known sports personalities in the world – if that's not worth checking out, then I don't know what is!
Each show will feature online qualifiers battling it out to go on to the next stage of the show where they will meet a Team PokerStars Pro or a sports celebrity. Players have qualified through the PokerStars website and those successful have mostly been filmed already although there is still one online qualifier and one filming day left. Those that come out successful in the early rounds of the game will have to play a best of 3 heads-up match against either a professional poker player or a well known sports personality. None of the amateurs will know who it is that they'll be facing until they sit down. Amongst the Team PokerStars players and sports personalities that they could be playing against are Peter Eastgate, Vickey Coren, Gary Speed or Phil Tufnell.
Should a player be successful in his heads-up matches he will win a £5,000 prize. Vickey Coren of Team PokerStars commented that "This is an excellent opportunity for previously unknown poker players to make a name for themselves and play against some of the best in the business," we would add that it sounds like great TV watching – can't wait!
