Online Poker Action – Antonius Loses, Hansen Back in the Black

The nosebleed stakes online poker action entered another period of lull last week. There wasn’t a whole lot of significant action, the pots that were played for were small compared to what usually went down before Black Friday, and the top protagonists to see action were few and far between. The biggest winner of the week was FinnishNightmre, who registered a profit of $106k. Gus Hansen showed up too for a spell, managing to finish almost $100k in the black. Patrik Antonious on the other hand was far less productive. The Finn dropped almost $200k, but then again, whenever someone wins, someone has to lose and this time it was his turn to hit the losers’ list.
Insyder19 finished in the red too, albeit he didn’t even come close to equaling Antonius’ losses: he dropped around $56k.

Without a doubt, the most important match-up of the week was the Hansen-Antonius battle at Full Tilt Poker’s $500/$1,000 PLO tables. One of the first significant pots of the session was a $102k monster, which ended up in Antonius’ possession after he made a flush against whatever Hansen had.
A few hands later, Hansen exacted some sweet revenge by flopping a set against Antonius’ two pair with a straight redraw. The turn and the river cards were run twice, and both times, they preserved Hansen’s advantage, giving him the $183k pot.

The biggest pot of the week came about at the $300/$600 PLO tables. Gus Hansen and DrugsOrMe were involved in the hand. The pot remained a medium-sized one right up until the river, when the fireworks started. They both got all their chips into the middle eventually, creating a $347k monster. Then, in a major anti-climax, they both revealed the same straight to split the monster-pot.
Besides FinnishNightmre and Hansen, O Fortuna PLS also joined the winners’ list. Himan33 lost $58k too, making the loser’s list behind Antonius and insyder19.
