Online poker action – Antonius vs Palmer

Whenever Patrik Antonius and Scott Palmer get together for a small $500/$1,000 PLO session, you can pretty much bet that sparks will fly. That was exactly the case last Sunday, when they locked horns at Full Tilt Poker’s tables. No fewer than 9 6-figure pots developed during the session, and even though 4 of them ended up being chopped, Palmer still managed to make some money on them, taking down 3 of the remaining 5. The biggest pot did end up in the Finn’s pockets though.
The fact that both players had bellied up to the table behind some pretty impressive stacks helped a lot when it came to creating such monster pots. In the biggest pot of the week, the action exploded on a flop of 9,5,5. The two players traded bets until all the money ended up in the middle. Antonius had a set of 5s against Palmer’s top pair and overpair. The turn and the river cards were run twice but nothing could help Palmer, who saw the $467k pot shipped across the table to his opponent.
A little bit later on though, Palmer scooped another monster, albeit this one ‘only’ weighed in at $246k. Everything accounted for, Palmer was the one who got away with the profit in this confrontation.
Not satisfied with the winnings he managed to amass at
Full Tilt Poker, Palmer got together with Will Molson at PokerStars, where they played $100/$200
NL Holdem. Palmer did it again there too, walking away with a profit and with the biggest pot of the session. The pot in question was a $130k one, which was shipped to Palmer after his pocket rockets made short work of his opponent’s A,K.
Gus Hansen showed up at his favorite roaming grounds too: Full Tilt Poker’s $500/$1,000 PLO tables. He took on Rui Cao and walked away with a $350k profit.
