Online Poker Action – Blom back in the Saddle

Viktor Blom’s 2013 high stakes cash game rollercoaster ride continued this week. The Swede had been dropping money by the handful over the last few weeks, but he obviously knew something that kept him from panicking like any normal person would: he knew that a run like his 6-hour long session against Ben Tollerene – during which he won around $1.7 million – would come, and he was right. After a relatively slow week last week, during which he lost $661.9k, thus becoming the biggest loser of the said time-frame, Blom bounced back in a pretty spectacular manner: he finished this week with a profit of $691.8k, becoming the biggest winner of the week.
At one point during the week, Blom looked like he was going to make his last week meltdown look good: he was down about $1 million. Thanks to his $1.7 million 6-hour long run against Ben Tollerene though, he managed to reverse all that. Tollerene did manage to recover some of those losses, but in the end, he did end up with as the biggest bust, under the red line by about $1.1 million.

On Sunday, the action kicked off in style at Full Tilt Poker. The biggest winner of the day was Kyle Ray, who started things off in the morning by winning about $350k at the Fixed Limit Omaha tables. He didn’t stop there though: by the end of the day, he was around $450k above the red line. Gus Hansen, the perpetual loser, was once again representing the opposite end of the spectrum: he dropped $716k, becoming the biggest loser of the day.
Ben Tollerene and Alex Kostritsyn did well on Sunday too, together with a player only known by the online moniker “follow the hawk” who won $282.6k.
