Online Poker Action – Blom’s Heater Continues

The online poker cash game action flared up again this past week and for the third time in third weeks, Full Tilt Poker’s Viktor Blom finished with the largest profit, firmly ascending what is now shaping up to be one of his massive upswings. Three weeks of top cash game profits have allowed the Swede to claim the “biggest winner of the year” spot again, with about 1.6 million to his name.
Although they paled by comparison to some of his other one-week hauls, Blom’s profits this week were pretty impressive, tipping the scales at $645.4k. For that money, he logged 1,473 hands (he played surprisingly little and he was surprisingly efficient this time around), spread over 17 different sessions.
None of the other big winners of the week fared nearly as well as Blom did. The second biggest winner was Doug Polk, who squeezed some $179.7k out of 540 hands that he had logged over only 5 sessions.
Kyle Ray, the biggest loser of the previous week, made the winners’ circle too this time, although he’s still far away from having recovered his last week’s losses. This week, he finished $141.5k above the red line at
Full Tilt Poker and he also won some $88.9k at
PokerStars.
Ray’s rebound came on Thurday, January 23, when he finished the day’s biggest winner, with a $170k profit, mostly accrued at the $200/$400
NL Holdem tables.
Wherever there are winners, there have to be losers too of course, and this week, none of them came bigger than Alexander Kostritsyn, who dropped some $290.1k, having played 887 hands over just 8 sessions. He was joined at the top of the list of shame by SallyWoo, who lost $257k. Tight-Man1 made the losers’ list too, while over at PokerStars, wilhasha clinched the biggest loser title, having dropped $114.9k.
Full Tilt Poker is beyond the shadow of a doubt the best online cash game destination. Even if one doesn’t actually play, it makes sense to sign up, just to railbird the pros.
