Online poker action – Dwan and Ivey win big

Last Week’s online poker action bore the mark of the EPT’s Monte Carlo Grand Final. At the beginning of the week, there was plenty of action, but all that slowly died off towards the end as players shifted their attention to the live action in Monte Carlo.
Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius were two of the biggest winners of the week, both of them pocketing over $1 million profits. A fixture of the W columns of weekly online poker reviews, Tom Dwan delivered yet again, adding about $770k to his towering 2010 profits.

Dwan was instrumental in putting the brakes on Odonkor1, one of the previous week’s hot runners. He and Lichtenberger set off to make some dough off the Swede and they proved to be quite successful indeed.
Dwan took on Odonkor1 at Full Tilt’s $100/$200 NL Holdem tables, and by the time he was done with him, the Swede had $199k less in his pockets. The biggest pot of the session was a 110k one. Dwan’s 5d, 10d hit a flush to do away with Odonkor1’s pocket rockets for the win.
Odonkor1’s woes continues against Andrew Lichtenberger, to whom the Swede dropped a further $300k. The largest pot of that session was a $85k one which landed in Lichtenberger’s pockets.

Always on the hunt for more money, Dwan took on Ilari Sahamies next, and did he ever make the right choice... The New Jersey Wonderkid took $1.5 million off the Finn in a 2-hour long monster session which saw several $400k pots and even a $500k monster.

Phil Ivey, who is not necessarily known for the long hours he puts in online, decided to invest some of his precious time into some 7-game and PLO action at Full Tilt. He first hit the 7-Game tables for a $377k profit, then moved on to PLO, where he added another $395 to the tally, mostly at Ashton Griffin’s expense.
With everything added up and subtracted, Ivey walked away with a little over $1 million from Full Tilt Poker’s tables. The largest pot of the Ivey-Griffin battle was a $362k whooper, which found its way to Ivey’s side of the virtual table, after he hit a set on the flop.
In addition to Sahamies and Odokor1, Cole South also added his name to the losers’ list.
