Online poker action – Dwan and Palmer lock horns

The high stakes cash game action is always more than decent at Full Tilt Poker, as there are a whole bunch of name players who are regulars there. These past few days though, the nosebleed stakes tables have been thoroughly dominated by two players. Tom Dwan is a perpetual protagonist whenever it comes to cash game headlines, and he was involved this time too. The other guy was Scott Palmer, known online as UrnotINdanger2. The two locked horns at the $300/$600 PLO tables, and $300/$600 PL Holdem ones. Palmer was the one who walked away a big winner at the end of it all, all three of the largest pots of the session landing in his pockets. All three of these pots crossed the $200k mark.

The largest of the monster pots came about during a PL Holdem hand. Dwan was on the button in this particular hand and he was the one who kicked off the preflop raising war. Palmer played right along though and by the time the flop fell, there was quite a bit of money in the pot. The 9s,9c,4s on the board did little to calm the action. Palmer fired out a $6k bet right away and Dwan raised it to $16.8k. The Ac on the turn further stoked the fire. Palmer checked this time, but Dwan placed a half-pot size bet again, which Palmer called to see the 2s fall on the river. Dwan shoved all-in, but it must’ve been nothing more than a desperation driven tilt move as he only had Kc,Jc for the missed flush. Palmer on the other hand, had As, Qs for the nut spade flush.

The second largest pot came in a PLO hand and once again it was Palmer who took it down. The third largest pot saw the two players shove all-in preflop. They ran the board twice and both times Lady Luck favored Palmer.
