Online poker action – Dwan gets back on track

Durrrr had dropped quite of bit of dough to Ilari Sahamies a few days ago, around $1.5 million to be exact. Only a day after his loss, he took on the Finn again, thirsty to exact some revenge. Sure enough, at the end of their session, durrrr has made up a lot of the money he’d lost to Sahamies. The session was dotted by some truly monstrous pots, most of which landed in durrrr’s pockets.
One such pot was a $423,000 whooper. It came about at $500/$1,000 PLO at Full Tilt Poker, and it started out with Sahamies mounting an attack from the button, via a $3k raise. Not to be outdone, Dwan quickly raised the action to 9k and Sahamies made the call. The flop landed: 4s,Jh,5h, and Dwan sprung a trap by checking. Sahamies walked right into it by firing out a $13k bet. Dwan made the call and the 6s fell on the turn. Durrrr once again checked and Sahamies fired $44k his way. Dwan once again called it and the river fell 8d. Fairly sure of himself by this stage, Dwan checked for the third time, prompting Sahamies to fire a pot size bet into him ($132k). In response, durrrr went all-in and Sahamies made the call for the remaining chips. Dwan then showed the nut straight while Sahamies mucked his hand.

Another monster pot was a $454k one, which landed on Dwan’s side of the virtual table after they ran the turn and the river twice. The two players made full use of the “run it twice” feature offered by Full Tilt Poker, running several of their monster pots twice.
Another such pot was a $446,000 heavyweight, which saw all the chips shoved into the middle on a flop of 9d,3c,Jh. The first time around, Dwan hit a boat with his A,K,Q,J, as the turn was a Q and the river was a Q too. The second time, the board fell 3d, 5d and Dwan made yet another boat for the other half of the pot.

This winning session, combined with some other profits Dwan logged at other tables, thrust him up among the biggest online poker winners of the week. Patrik Antonius managed to eke out some profits too. Ilari Sahamies, Gus Hansen and Brian Townsend highlighted the list of losers.
