Online Poker action – grinders rule

Full Tilt Poker’s high stakes tables were the scenes of an interesting change of pace over the weekend. Instead of large pots flying to and fro, grinding was the order of the day. Several of the big-name pros saw action, among them Patrik Antonius and Jared Bleznick. Both Antonius and Bleznick finished with handsome profits. Marcelo Marigliano on the other hand, drew the short stick again, together with IHateJuice who was responsible for most of Antonius’ profits.
Antonius amassed nearly $1 million since Friday, and most of the money came from IHateJuice. The two players locked horns at the $2,000/$4,000 limit tables, and logged quite a few hands as the battle slowly but surely degenerated into one-sided trouncing.
None of the major pots broke the six-figure mark, but there were plenty of handsome monsters nonetheless, the majority of which ended up in Antonius’ pockets. The biggest pot of the Antonius – IHateJuice matchup was a $56,000 monster, which needless to say ended up on Antonius's side of the table, after his full house made short work of whatever his opponent had.

Soon after, Antonius took down another $52,000 haul from the button, when his pocket kings held up.
The way Antonius took advantage of position was a thing of beauty indeed, and consequently, most of the damage he dealt came from position too. Another $52,000 pot was shoved over his way, when he flopped a set of 6s and took full advantage of the weakness shown by his opponent on the turn.

Another similarly one-sided match up saw Jared Bleznich rip into Marcelo Marigliano at the $200/$400 tables at Full Tilt Poker. Bleznich had the upper hand in this bloodbath, finishing $214,000 in the black for the weekend. Observer84 made the winners’ list as well, with a $163,000 profit. IHateJuice headlined the losers’ list, sporting losses of over $930,000.
