Online poker action – Gus Hansen’s feel-good run continues

The online poker action picked up a little bit early last week, after a weekend during which most of the high stakes regulars were away recharging their batteries. Gus Hansen was pretty much the only “name” pro active over the weekend, and he proved to be the most successful one early last week too. Daniel Cates got rolling as well, although not against Tom Dwan, as part of their challenge series. Cates took on David Benefield at the PLO tables at Full Tilt Poker and walked away with a pretty big loss.
Other notables to see action were Luukie21 and Rami Boukai. Boukai lost back some of the money that he had won the previous week, while Luukie21 ended up under the red line as well.

Ilari Sahamies saw some action too, against Scott Palmer. The largest pot of the session weighed in at around $76k and it ended up in Palmer’s possession. Both players went on to finish the mid-week action above the red line, although Sahamies logged a bigger profit than Palmer.

Daniel Cates, a player well-known for his NLH skills took on David Benefield at the PLO tables. The fact that his PLO game is not quite on par with his NLH abilities was obvious in this bout as he dropped around $132k to Benefield, followed by a $83k loss to harrington25.

Gus Hansen locked horns with Luukie21in the meantime, winning a massive $600k in that session, sending Luukie21 to the top of the biggest losers list. Hansen’s winning session was an extension of a longer spree which saw him pocket around $1.2 million at Full Tilt Poker over just a couple of weeks’ time.
Rami Boukai made the losers’ list too, having dropped $382k of the money he’d won over the weekend.
