Ilari Sahamies’ name graced the list of top losers several times this year. The Finn had struggled quite a bit indeed, but over the last couple of weeks he has recovered most of his losses. Two weeks ago, he managed to recover about half of the money he’d dropped over the first few months of the year. Last week he did well again, finishing the stretch with a profit of $350.3k which he amassed over 32 different sessions having logged a total of 3,592 hands. His combined profits from the above said two weeks almost broke the $1 million mark.
There were several other 6-figure winners last week. Jens Kyllonen, who is currently the most profitable player this year, won about $262k over 27 sessions. He was much more efficient than Sahamies, as he only played 1,014 hands.
Viktor Blom had a profitable week too.
PokerStars’ Swede took home $201.6k, for which he played 6,198 hands over 38 sessions. EireAbu made the winners’ circle too. He was the least profitable among the big winners with a $165.3k haul, and he was the least efficient too: for that money, he played 111 sessions logging a massive 10,841 hands.
Wherever there are winners, there have to be losers too. Last week, Isaac Haxton was the biggest loser after he dropped $500k in one move to Viktor Blom who won their special SuperStar Showdown challenge session.
RaiseOnce only played 950 hands, but that was enough for him to drop $232.4k, clinching second place on the losers’ list.
Another big loser was ‘doncarignano’, who managed to drop $151.9k. Ronny Kaiser had a tough week too: he finished it with $116k less in his bankroll.
Jans Kyllonen has managed to cling to his year-to-date lead. He is around $1.5 million in the black. Second on the winners’ list is bernard-bb, followed by Ben Sulsky. Phil Galfond and EireAbu are also right up there in the top 5.
