Online Poker Action – Kostritsyn Wins Big

Over the last week, the bulk of the high stakes cash game action was focused on Full Tilt Poker’s tables. The biggest winner of the week was Alex Konstritsyn, who finished $1.1 million in the black.
Kostritsyn played 7,002 hands, spread over 89 different sessions to take down the phenomenal haul.
While Kostritsyn was by far the biggest winner, there were several other players who did almost as well: “kagome kagome” for instance finished second with a profit of $780.2k, for which he logged 5,456 hands, spread over 44 different sessions. Phil Ivey made the top 3 as well: he finished with $590.8k. Alex Luneau made it past the $500k profit-mark as well: he registered a $504.7k week.
For every single one of the big winners named above, there were one or more big losers of course. The biggest loser of all was patpatpanda, who played out of Macau and dropped $728.3k in 13,584 hands. Patrik Antonius, one of Full Tilt’s “traditional” regulars, dropped money as well: he lost $683.2k in 5,012 hands, spread over 55 different sessions.
Viktor Blom, one of the founding members of “The Professionals” was in the mix as well. He continued his cooler though, losing $406.3k. Rounding out the top 4 of the losers’ list was Hac Dang, who dropped $389.6k.
Much of Kostritsyn’s wins came from patpatpanda, from the $200/$600 Mixed Games tables. The two locked horns at the $1.5k/$3k tables and when everything was said and done, Kostritsyn walked away with a profit of $766.5k.
The week’s profits were enough to propel Kostritsyn into the top cash game winner of the year spot. He is currently also the most profitable cash game player at
Full Tilt Poker.
Patpatpanda continued to drop money on Monday, when Ben Tollerene took him on at the $400/$800 PLO tables.
