Online Poker Action – Norway’s Petter Northug Dominates Cash Game Action

Petter Northug of Norway is one of the better known players on the high stakes online circuit due to his past Olympic capers, which earned him two gold medals. The skiing legend took part in the Sochi Olympics too, however, this time he failed to take home any medals. With the Olympics out of the way though, the Norwegian obviously had more time to invest at the online poker tables and his investments reaped healthy dividends as he took down a profit of $129k from the $50/$100 PLO tables at PokerStars on Monday. He played for 8 hours, but in the end, he had the last laugh.
This handsome haul is not Northug’s first online poker accomplishment: he actually has a SCOOP final table presence to his name too.

While Northug’s notoriety may have grabbed him the spotlight this week, when it came to volume, Full Tilt Poker’s Viktor Blom ruled supreme yet again, despite the fact that yet again, he finished as the biggest loser of the week. Blom dropped some 487.1k over 29 sessions totaling 5,398 hands. This latest meltdown came after Blom had dropped some $362.6k during the previous week.
Although last week he retained his most profitable player of the year status despite the losses, this week’s hit was too much for him to absorb. The most profitable player is Ben Tollerene now, who has some $1.53 million in profits.
PimpyLimpy and Kyle Ray dropped quite a bit of money this week too. The former came up $274k short, while the latter finished $230k below the red line.

The biggest winner of the week was Harry Cassagrande, who pocketed $378.2k. Ola Amundsgard finished among the winners too: he ended up $216.3k richer. Alexander Kostritsyn finished with a sizable profit too.
Play at Full Tilt Poker and take part in the best cash games the online poker industry can offer. You can also railbird your favorite high stakes players in real time.
