Online Poker Action – Phil Ivey Biggest Winner

Phil Ivey is thus far among the biggest losers of the year at the high stakes cash game tables at Full Tilt Poker, but his past two weeks were great for him, as he managed to finish with handsome profits both times, and this week he even managed to clinch the biggest winner of the week title. Last week, the owner of 9 WSOP bracelets managed to finish $359.2k above the red line, and this week, he improved on that score a bit: he logged a $361.6k profit, which –although rather pale compared to what usually earns players the biggest winner of the week position – was enough to hand him the top spot this time around. He played 7,279 hands divided among 112 sessions for the haul.
Despite the satisfaction that these two weeks’ performances doubtlessly earned him, Ivey remains in dire straits as far as his overall bankroll is concerned, still below the red line by about $2.22 million.

Interestingly enough, the second biggest winner of the week came from PokerStars: Wilhasha logged a $356.2k effort there, playing 3,051 hands over 62 different sessions.
Other big winners were punting-peddler, who finished with a profit of $318.9k, Phil Galfond ($299.3k), RookieNFL ($225.9k) and surprisingly enough, Gus Hansen, who managed to sneak above the red line for the first time in a while, by about $222.3k.

The losers’ list was headed by Alexander Kostritsyn, who dropped $532.4k in only 2,056 hands, over 29 sessions. Mikki696 didn’t fare much better either, dropping significant sums at Full Tilt Poker as well as at PokerStars. Patrik Antonius was among the losers too, together with Isaac Haxton and Viktor Blom.
The Doug Polk vs Ben Sulsky Challenge match continued as the two players logged two more sessions. Although Sulsky managed to nibble away at his opponent’s advantage, Polk is still in the lead by about $300k.
Play at Full Tilt Poker and when on a break, railbird the most interesting cash games the industry can currently offer.
