Online poker action – Rami Boukai and Ashton Griffin soar above the competition

Although the online poker action has slowed down a little since the beginning of last week, there were still some significant swings, as some players continued to build their bankrolls at Full Tilt Poker, while others were busy dropping money left and right. The biggest winner of the week turned out to be Rami Boukai, who continued the excellent form he’d exhibited since August. Boukai finished up $242,920, most of his winnings having come from DrugsOrMe who’d had an excellent run the previous week.

Boukai’s antics put aside, the most interesting stretch of action last week unfolded between three of Full Tilt Poker’s biggest high stakes maniacs: Ashton Griffin, Ilari Sahamies and Brian Hastings. The tree locked horns at Full Tilt Poker’s $300/$600 PLO tables. Several 6-figure pots developed during a session which contributed significantly to Ashton Griffin’s profits for the week.
The largest pot of the session ended up in Ashton Griffin’s pockets. It all began with the usual preflop tug-of-war, till the Q,4,4 landed on the board. Hastings got out of the way as Sahamies and Griffin nudged it up higher past the flop. The turn was the 5c and the river fell the 10d, prompting Sahamies to shove all-in. Griffin made the call and tabled K,4,K,4 for the quads and the $190,599 pot.

As said above, Rami Boukai had his biggest day at Full Tilt Poker on Thursday last week. He booked a profit of $125k for the day, having played 806 PLO hands against DrugsOrMe.
One of the biggest pots of the session ended up in Boukai’s pockets after his small flush busted DrugsOrMe’s feeble bluff.

Besides Boukai and the Ashman, Di Dang, Marcelo Marigliano and Gus Hansen made the winners’ list too.
Ilari Sahamies and Phil Galfond were among the biggest losers.
