Online Poker Action – Robl Biggest Loser

So far this year, the
online poker cash game action has hit a note which harkens back to the glory days of the game: during the past couple of weeks, Viktor Blom and Phil Galfond have ridden some pretty extreme variance, shining quite a bit of limelight at Full Tilt Poker’s cash game tables, thus proving that transferring Blom from
PokerStars to Full Tilt was an inspired move indeed.
This week, a lull has settled over the high stakes tables, as neither of the above said two players managed to get anything big going this time. The biggest winner of the week was Kyle Ray, not exactly a household name for cash game railbirds. Ray generated a profit of $929k, quite an impressive haul indeed. It took him only 1,283 hands and 7 sessions to accomplish the deed.
SallyWoo, one of the players who has become a staple of big winners/losers’ lists lately, has finished with $259k, far behind the leader. Ben Sulsky made the winner’s list as well, having taken down a $256.9k profit.
Needless to say, wherever there are big winners in poker, there are big losers too: the donors who provide the winners with the spoils. This week, the biggest loser was a player known as “Johnbest” who was clearly not on his best, having dropped $506k, in 6,242 hands. Andrew Robl was a big loser too: he contributed around $357k to the winners’ side of the equation.
Phil Ivey lost big as well: he dropped $314.8k. Scott Seiver made the list of shame too: he lightened his bankroll by about $241k.
Robl may have gotten the worst of it: in a tweet he fired out in the wake of his meltdown, he said he was left with $0.04 in his online poker accounts.
