Online Poker Action – Sahamies Week’s Biggest Winner

Ilari Sahamies didn’t travel to Las Vegas for the WSOP this year. While many of his peers were busy grinding away at the live tournament tables, he kept busy online, carrying the high stakes action at PokerStars, together with a motley crew of similarly fanatical online poker professionals.
Last week, Sahamies strung together an excellent run: he finished the period with a profit of $492,864 at the end of 4,554 hands spread over 52 different sessions.
‘forhayley’ was another winner: he took down $185.7k. mickan1984 and patpatman also made the winners’ list, together with David Eldar and EireAbu.
In order for Sahamies to win that much, someone had to drop a ton of money. Last week, that person was Phisherman36 who lost $775,162. The most amazing thing was that he lost all that money in only 1,890 hands, spread over 23 sessions.
Before last week’s disaster, Phisherman36 was up more than $1.3 million. Now, he’s winnings have dwindled to around $538k.

Sahamies’ run began on Friday, when he hit the $200/$400 PLO tables. He finished the day with a profit of $367k. Sahamies’ domination at the PLO tables was positively overwhelming: save for patpatman, who managed to snatch up about $7.5k, no one else managed to take home a single dime in profits from that game. The losers were Phisherman36 (who dropped about $200k that day), Ignat Liviu and Terje Augdal. The biggest pot of the session tipped the scales at $133.9k and – needless to say – it ended up in Sahamies’ possession. On Sunday, it was Sander Berndsen’s turn to step into the limelight. He logged about 4.5k hands over the course of 12 hours, generating a profit of $175k.
Sahamies topped all that seemingly effortlessly on Monday, when he took down $444k, playing against David Eldar and Phisherman36.

Phisherman36 was joined on the losers’ list by Ignat Liviu, (who dropped $200k+) and Sander Berndsen, who ended up losing $131.2k.
