Ilari Sahamies has grown wings these last few weeks: at one point – only a few weeks ago – the Finn was in a massive $1.5 million hole. He is now among the main contenders for the biggest
online poker cash game winner of the year title. Last week, he finished with a profit of $803.4k. This week, he pulled out all stops again and he managed to top even that absolutely amazing performance: he finished $1.1 million above the red line this time, to turn the month of October into his most profitable one of the year thus far.
The exact numbers concerning his run were: 83 different sessions played, totaling 7,431 hands. His exact profits were $1,134,615. His production was so overwhelming, that he made three times more than the second biggest winner of the week, Jens Kyllonen. Kylonen finished the week with a profit of $331.8k, not a shabby haul, but certainly well overshadowed by Sahamies’ profits.
Patpatman managed to climb back among the winners too: he had about $264k in the “+” column at the end of the week.
Andreas Torbergsen and Ben Tollerene finished among the winners too: they both managed to climb over the $200k mark.
Phil Galfond is usually one of the winners at
PokerStars, but this week, things didn’t come together for him. He finished the biggest loser, having dropped $615.9k in just 4.5k hands, spread over 19 different sessions. Zypherin didn’t fare much better either, although he “only” dropped $350.6k.
The losers’ list was completed by Ben Sulsky and Viktor Blom.
Sahamies went on a tear on Thursday, when he started off by dropping $170k. He dropped the money to Torbergsen, but he later recouped all his losses and then some at the $200/$400 PLO tables against Viktor Blom and Jens Kyllonen.
