Online Poker Action – samrostan Week’s Biggest Winner

Following some bumpy 2013 spots, high stakes online poker pro “samrostan” gained wings over the last few weeks: for the second time in a row, he finished as the biggest winner of the week, having amassed some $912.1k in profits this week at the cash game tables. He played 7,543 hands for it, spread over 27 different sessions. This week’s profits came on the tail end of a $353.3k run samrostan had logged last week.
Given that there were only three other players who had 6-figure runs this week, samrostan was by far the biggest winner indeed. The other players who managed to get their names onto the winners’ list were “taktloss47”, Alex Luneau and Vladimir Schemelev. Taktloss47 finished with a $116.9k profit while Luneau became $102.6k richer. Both their profits came from

Over at
PokerStars, Schemelev was the biggest winner, with a $104.5k haul.
Unlike samrostan, Phil Galfond has been having a tough time at the high stakes tables lately. Last week, he dropped $166.3k, and this week, he followed it up with a $620,8k loss, which he incurred over 5,708 hands spread over 28 different sessions.
There were other big losers too of course, but none of them came close to Galfond this week. One such loser was Ronny Kaiser, who dropped $215k. Viktor Blom, Full Tilt Poker’s extreme Swede, was also a loser again. He dropped $134.4k this week, wrapping up the 6-figure section of the losers’ list. O Fortuna PLS was also a loser: he came up $93.1k below the red line.
When reading this weekly review, one does have to keep in mind that several players have opted out of having their action tracked, which means that there may in fact have been other big winners/losers not covered above.
