Online Poker Action – The Gus Hansen Train-wreck Rolls On

Despite the ongoing WCOOP, which has tied down some of the liquidity at
PokerStars, over at Full Tilt Poker the cash game action has been as hot as ever lately. Last week, Patrik Antonius, a long time regular at the site’s nosebleed stakes tables, was the one who hogged all the limelight, finishing the biggest winner, with profits totaling $745.3k.
This week, he failed to repeat that performance, but he was only slightly worse off: he pocketed some $371.8k, for which he played 3,476 hands, spread over 25 different sessions. While his winnings were yet again impressive, he fell well short of the top spot: three other players overtook him profit-wise. Sanlker was the one who took home the biggest check this time: his profits totaled an impressive $685.2k. While the biggest cash game winners usually all come from Full Tilt Poker, this week PokerStars yielded a top finisher as well: Rui Cao amassed some $447.4k there. Viktor Blom, another regular presence at the top of the weekly winners’ lists, finished third, with $510.7k to his name.

Gus Hansen’s online cash game run has been a train-wreck this year. Although dotted by a profitable week here and there, the Great Dane’s 2014 has been something of a mathematical mystery, especially in regards to the source of the money he has so generously been doling out at the tables.
