Ever since he returned to the nosebleed stakes games a couple of weeks ago, XWINK hasn’t taken his foot off the pedal. After an excellent start, which saw him pocket several hundreds of thousands of dollars from several
Full Tilt Poker regulars, he hit a snag and gave some of his profits back. Last week, he got on the winning side again, logging a profit of $532k over 1,797 hands. That latest haul makes him one of the biggest winners of the month, with $1.6 million in March alone.
Some of XWINK’s latest profits came from Andreas Torbergsen. The two locked horns at the $300/$600 PLO tables, where some pretty massive pots developed.
The first monster pot ended up in Torbergsen’s possession, and weighing in at $334k, it was an impressive addition indeed.
The hand began with the customary preflop tug-of-war, which saw quite a few buckskins thrown into the middle when the Qs,4s,Ks landed on the flop. XWINK checked and then called Torbergsen’s bet to see the 3s hit the turn. XWINK checked again and then called when Torbergsen took the initiative yet again. The 7h on the river prompted another check from XWINK, followed by another bet by his opponent. XWINK made the call again, getting all his chips into the middle in the progress. Torbergsen showed a flush and XWINK mucked his hand.
Some hands later, the Canadian managed to exact some sweet revenge by taking down a $270k pot. The turn and the river were both run twice and Lady Luck favored XWINK both times to give him the entire pot.
XWINK also took on Patrik Antonius, at the $500/$1,000 PLO tables. Antonius netted a $344k pot in this one. Not the one to be intimidated by a setback, XWINK took on none other than Phil Ivey and he managed to get his hands on about $222k of his money.
