The
online poker cash game action is hot again at Full Tilt Poker. Ilari Sahamies is back and taking names once again. The latest opponent to cross his path, Cole South, paid dearly for his decision to take on the Finn. He was unlucky enough to catch the always streaky Ziigmund on one of his lucky days and to pick the uncapped version of PLO instead of the usually preferred capped version.
In the beginning, the game was a relatively balanced affair. The two players were neck and neck for the first two hours of the confrontation, after which Sahamies took the lead. By the end of the session, the battle had turned into a rout, Ziiggy happily sitting on profits of more than $700k. To his credit, South realized he just couldn’t win that day, and called it quits before a further escalation of his losses.
This haul was the Finn’s largest in several months. Before the session, Sahamies had been breaking even for 2010. South had been almost $2 million in the black, of which he lost around $1.1 million in recent days, ending up with a $990k 2010 profit.
Sahamies was all business during the session, he took down several pots larger than $150k and at the peak of his domination, he had around $1.2 million spread at the two tables.
One of the biggest pots which landed on Ziigmund’s side of the table was a $256k monster, for which he flopped a boat, (8s full of Ks) and promptly got South all-in.
Another 162k monster saw Shamies hit a set of Ks for the win.
Other “name” pros were in action at
Full Tilt Poker too. Daniel Cates ended up as one of the winners, having generated a $161k profit. Phil Ivey and skervoy scored big too.
