Online poker action – Ziigmund relieves Isildur1 of $193k

With the WSOP in town, the nosebleed stakes online poker action is just not the same. Most of the regulars are either playing in WSOP events or they’re over at Bobby’s Room putting their cash game skills to work in a live environment. Only the purest breed of online poker players have stayed behind to provide action at Full Tilt’s high stakes tables. Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies certainly fits that description, and we wouldn’t possibly consider Isildur1 anything else either. The two players locked horns at the PLO tables, and knowing Isildur1’s PLO history, the result of the heads-up battle doesn’t really come as a surprise to anyone.
The action began at the $100/$200 PLO tables, where Isidlur1 had it going pretty well for a while. He booked some $119,000 in profits after about 460 hands, before the two of them agreed to move up to the $200/$400 level. The move proved to be an excellent one for Sahamies, who raked in about $322k over 1,239 hands, ending the session with a 193k profit overall. The loss marked yet another setback for the mystery Swede, who cannot seem to find a way to get back onto the nosebleed stakes where he truly seems to be in his element.

Another interesting online heads-up confrontation saw Jungleman12 go up against Odonkor1. The two players picked the $100/$200 No Limit Texas Holdem tables as their theatre of confrontation. When the dust settled in the arena (after more than 1,000 hands) Jungleman12 was the one above the red line, by around $100k.
The biggest pot of this session was a $77k one, which ended up in Jungleman12s pockets, after he rivered a flush.

Probably the most interesting online poker event of the week was the appearance of a new face at the nosebleed cash tables at Full Tilt Poker. A Czech player known by the moniker “Doesburg” decided to go back to the stakes he hadn’t played for quite a while. He took on Theo Jorgensen at the $100/$200 PLO tables and he ended up with a $106k profit at the end of a 125 hand session. All three of the largest pots of the heads-up battle found their way to the Czech’s side of the table. The largest pot was a $48k monster, which went Doesburg’s way when he showed down a turned flush.
