Online Poker – Hansen and Sahamies in Action

The reality of the post Black Friday is slowly but surely beginning to sink in with the online poker world: last week, the action at the nosebleed stakes tables slowed down quite a bit. The biggest winner of the period was Rui Cao, who scored an almost $90k profit, at the end of a 162-hand session at Full Tilt Poker. The biggest loser was Esvedra, who dropped $188k over 769 hands.
Hansen played quite a bit too, mostly at the $300/600 PLO tables, where he locked horns with Ronnyr37617 and DrugsOrMe. The early going was not in Hansen’s favor, whose phenomenal bad luck showed signs of returning early on.
The hand responsible for Hansen’s biggest single loss, kicked off with some heated preflop action. After all three players got a significant amount of chips into the middle, the flop, which fell 10,Q,6 rainbow, proved to be quite a cooler. No one felt like pushing any more chips into the pot and the general mood remained unaltered after the Kh hit the turn. The 10h on the river prompted Hansen to drop a $30k bet onto the table, forcing DrugsOrMe to get out of the way. Ronnyr check-raised the Great Dane though, who shoved all his chips into the middle in response.
Ronnyr had the goods though: his K,10,10,A prompted Hansen to muck his hand.

A little bit later on, Ronnyr37617 struck again, taking down a $104k pot, this time from DrugsOrMe. The flop in this hand was a particularly nasty one, giving Ronnyr a set of 7s against DrugsOrMe’s set of Js. The turn and the river were run twice, but nothing changed and Ronnyr walked away with his opponent’s money.

Hansen did manage to recover some of his losses in a different session, from Ilari Sahamies. The Great Dane took down a $113k pot, after he flopped a set of Qs against Sahamies’ bottom two pair.

How can a set of 7's win against a set of J's?
