The WCOOP has definitely had a benefic effect on the weekend online poker traffic. The numbers were up at PokerStars for the second consecutive week and the prize-pools were extremely impressive yet again. Several ‘name’ pros saw action over the weekend in the various WCOOP events as well as in the Sunday Storm. The name players who managed to win events were Joao Lima, Jimmie Guinther and Adam Bitz.
Lima won the $162 PokerStars Bigger, which had a guarantee of $100k. The 1,861 players though who bought in, created a prize-pool of $279,150. Lima struck a 4-way deal with the other top finishers, a deal which probably limited the amount of money he eventually ended up taking home. Still, he walked away with a handsome $36.5k. The second place man picked up $31k.
Another notable finish in the event was that of Randy Lew, who took home $8.3k for his 7th place effort.
Adam Bitz’s moment of glory came in the $109
PokerStars Bigger, which had a guarantee of $100k too. No fewer than 3,406 players registered for this one though, creating a prize-pool of $340,600.
This event saw a 3-way deal at the top, at the end of which Bitz emerged with the win, pocketing $40.8k.
Tamesis1 finished second for a $36.8k reward.
Another notable to finish high in the event was Richard Toth who took down $5.6k for his 8th place.
The Sunday Kickoff was the event in which Jimmy Guinther shone. The Sunday Kickoff offered a $75k guarantee, but the 1,663 players who registered created a prize-pool of $166.3k. Guinther didn’t let any deals spoil his haul. He won hands down, taking home $27.7k for his efforts.
Bank of H. finished second for a $19.9k reward. There weren’t really any other notables in the top 10, however, Chris Moorman finished 18th for a rather measly $748 haul.
