This weekend, the online poker majors drew thousands upon thousands of players to their tables again. The high profile crowd had quite a field day on Sunday, when Kyle Julius led the charge in
PokerStars’ Sunday Million.
The
poker tournament drew a starting field of 7,848 players, generating a prize-pool of $1,569,600. The winner of the event was a player known by the online handle “parmupill” who bested none other than Kyle Julius heads-up for the win. The biggest prize in the tournament (which was the biggest prize of the weekend as well) landed in Julius’ pockets after all, thanks to a 3-way deal the top 3 finishers had struck. The third place finisher was a player known as “ragAAAila19” who scooped up $156.8k. There weren’t any other 6-figure finishers in the Sunday Million. Other notables who finished high were Nick Maimone (who ended up in 73rd place for a $1.9k reward) and James Obst, who finished 83rd, for $1.7k.
The Sunday Warm-up resulted in another 6-figure winner added to the weekend tally. The event saw 3,693 players belly up to its tables to battle it out for a prize-pool of $738.6k. The winner of the event was the only one to roll past the $100k mark: Scott Lipshutz won it, taking down a $108.8k prize.
There was a two-way deal at the top in this tournament too: Lipshutz made a deal with runner-up matt86ck, who ended up taking home $93.5k. The highest finishing notable in the event was Ash Mason, who finished 8th for a $9.2k reward.
PokerStars pro Richard Toth managed a relatively deep run as well: he finished 17th for $2.2k.
Full Tilt Poker’s $500k guaranteed added yet another 6-figure winner to the weekend’s tally too: DMaradona won this one, taking down the $101k top prize.
