This past weekend saw Tom Grigg catch fire at the
online poker tables at
PokerStars. The pro made the final table of the Sunday Warm-Up and he also reached the final stretch of the Sunday 500. He made a deep run in the Sunday Million too to top it all off. Alex Petersen had a good run too, together with a handful of other ‘name’ players.
The Sunday Million drew a starting field of 7,194 participants, who combined buy-ins to create a prize-pool of $1,438,000. The event fizzled out in a 4-way deal, which left the eventual winner, koka77, with a $124,244 haul. He was by far not the biggest winner of the Sunday Million though. The biggest chunk of the prize-pool ended up in VyruAlus’ possession, who finished 3rd for $166,282. 4th place man leroy112 took home the second biggest reward: he won $151.8k. The runner up – a player known as kaltrapuf – scored a $123.5k payday. No other players finished in 6 figures in the event.
Tom Grigg ended up in 22nd place, for a $3.35k reward. Kevin Steele was another deep-running notable. He finished 34th for a modest haul of $2.99k.
The MicroMillions Main Event took place on Sunday as well. 54,065 players took part in this one, coughing up the $22 buy-in. The prize-pool was $1,081,300. There was a 3-way deal at the top in this event too. The winner, Zabaleta1, took down the biggest prize, which tipped the scale at $140k. The runner-up took home $90.7k. The second 6-figure winner in the event was sebastion86, who collected $111.1k for his 3rd place.
The Sunday Warm-Up saw Tom Grigg make it all the way to 5th place. He was rewarded with $27.8k for his efforts. The eventual winner of the event came out of a 3-way deal at the top: a player known as Xading took down $98.3k.
There weren’t any 6-figure winners in this event.
