Phil Ivey no Longer Biggest Loser of the Year

Phil Ivey, until a few days ago the biggest online poker loser of the year, managed to put together an impressively profitable run last week, finally removing himself from the biggest loser spot.
Interestingly enough, Ivey's run took place during a stretch of time dominated by PokerStars' Spring Championship of Online Poker. Despite the tournament action hogging most of the limelight, the high stakes pros were busy at the cash tables. Ivey played at PokerStars as well as at Full Tilt Poker, and he logged handsome profits in both spots.
His PokerStars haul tipped the scale at $201.6k, while at Full Tilt Poker, he picked up some $279.7k. Although significant and although it did help Ivey, the haul didn't exactly make him profitable. In fact, it took a massive loss on the part of Viktor Blom to get Ivey out of the biggest loser position. Having dropped some $257.4k at PokerStars, Viktor Blom is now the biggest loser.
Sign up to Full Tilt Poker and play in their cash games. The site is the best cash game destination of the online poker industry for a good reason.

Interestingly, Blom had started out winning, but he eventually melted down. While his above said loss definitely qualified Blom as the biggest loser of the week, Ivey wasn't alone at the top. Ben Tollerene had a good week too: he took down $373k, for which he played 1,800 hands spread over 12 different sessions. Elior Sion got his name onto the winners' list too: his profits totaled some $111.7k. Blom wasn't the only loser either: he was joined on the list of pain by Cort Kibler-Melby, whose losses tipped the scale at an impressive $226k. Isaac Haxton dropped some money as well: he lost $114.8k.
Play at Full Tilt Poker and keep an eye on the high-stakes cash game tables: that's where the pros play and you can indeed learn plenty from them...
