As the
WSOP closes in on us, the
online poker community is increasingly eager to experience some hot poker action, not just via television or news-feeds, but first hand as well. Titan Poker’s ECOOP IV is a wonderful opportunity to put your MTT skills to the test and to do battle for significantly large guaranteed prize-pools. The
ECOOP (The European Championship of Online Poker) is like a mini WSOP online. There are 13 side events leading up to a Main Event on the last day of the competition which features a huge prize-pool and an equally huge starting field.
Several poker variants and betting structures are present in the schedule, giving players the possibility to prove themselves from a variety of angles. The winner of each of these events will receive an ECOOP bracelet (just another ECOOP-WSOP similarity).
The first edition of the
ECOOP took place in December 2007, and the organizers approached the challenge rather carefully back then. The total prize-pool offered by the first ECOOP was nonetheless rather impressive: $2.5 million were distributed among ECOOP winners during 10 days of action.
For the second ECOOP, the prize-pool swelled to $3.5 million, and the action lasted for 10 days again.
The third edition of the ECOOP saw the series expand to 14 days, and the prize-pool swell to $4.1 million.
The fourth edition is just around the corner, kicking off on May 25th and lasting till June 7th. The Main Event will wrap the series up and it will distribute a prize-pool of $1.5 million among the top finishers.
The lowest buy-in to an ECOOP side event is $100+$9 which means many a player will find it within his/her means to buy in directly. The most expensive buy-in is that of the Main Event, which costs $1,500+$80 to enter.
Even though the direct buy-ins are reasonable too,
Titan Poker offers its players an alternative way to the ECOOP tables: through its satellite system. Direct access (super) satellites run for all the ECOOP events and they cost much less to enter than a direct buy-in. The sub satellites make sure that even those who can only spare a few bucks will get a chance grab an ECOOP seat.
