PokerStars’ 6th Anniversary Sunday Million

The great thing about PokerStars is that they always seem to be celebrating some sort of an anniversary and they usually do it in a way that players find most pleasing: by upping the guaranteed prize-pools on their weekend flagship MTTs. This next weekend we’re in for another wild ride in the Sunday Million. The online poker room turns 6 years old and it is yet again celebrating in style. The minimum guaranteed prize-pool of the Sunday Million will be $6 million, but as it usually happens, the added value will probably draw so many players, the actual prize-pool is likely to soar clear past that mark.
Of the $6 million, a staggering $1 million will go to the winner, setting off quite a race to the top. The anniversary also represents an opportunity for the company and for outsiders alike to take a look back at the accomplishments realized in these 6 years.

There were 278 Sunday Millions during the past 6 years, which awarded an earth-shattering $444 million in prizes. No fewer than 2.1 million players took part in Sunday Millions, paying up a little over $451 million in buy-ins. Next Sunday’s event will definitely crown another millionaire and it will take the total amount of prizes awarded by the Sunday Million to $450 million.
Other than the tweaked prize-pool, there’s nothing different about this Sunday’s Sunday Million: it takes place at the same time it usually does, and it features the same $215 buy-in.
Existing PokerStars players as well as new ones are welcome to take part. For those who do not yet have a PokerStars account: the added value on this event alone is worth a sign-up. Register now and grab a share of the anniversary prize-pool: there’s no better way to kick-start an online poker career.
Players won’t even have to cough up the whole buy-in, there are several online qualifiers running for the event, some of them only costing a buck to enter.
