PokerStars Big Game – Loose Cannon wins

After a brief break,
PokerStars’ Big Game returned to the green felt last week, with a new lineup of professional players, and with a new loose cannon, who managed to survive all the way, winning the session hands-down.
The loose cannon was 35-year old, father of two, college math teacher David Fishman, who started out modestly, declaring that he was content just playing against some of the world’s best players, although the money would be nice too. The pros he would be up against were Joe Cada, Phil Hellmuth, David Williams, Phil Laak and William Perkins.
For those who may not have read our past Big Game reports, here’s a brief intro on the format of the game: played with $200/$400 blinds and $100 antes for 150 hands, the Big Game offers the loose cannon a $100k bankroll. At the end of the 150-hand session, the loose cannon can take home everything he makes on top of his starting $100k.
Phil Hellmuth was the one who started out best. He jumped to an early lead at Perkins’ expense.
The pros kept making life difficult for one another as the Loose cannon lurked in the shadows. When he did spring into action, he managed to cripple one of the pros straight away.
The victim was none other than the Poker Brat, whose stack dropped to about $15k. He was eliminated a few hands later. Towards the end of the session, Phil Laak pushed Jason Mercier under the red line as he climbed out of the red zone on his shoulders.
The Loose Cannon was the one who finished with the biggest profit, and who thus effectively won the session. Fishman finished a massive $129k in the black. Perkins ended up in the black too, though only by $45k.
