PokerStars buys Full Tilt Poker

We happen to know from a reliable inside source that after months of bickering with GBT (Groupe Bernard Tapie) trying to settle various issues of the Full Tilt poker takeover, the DoJ has apparently made up its mind about the deal and sold FTP to a third party which hasn’t publicly expressed any sort of interest in the deal thus far.
PokerStars have apparently stepped up to the plate and reached an agreement with the US DoJ to buy the besieged online poker operation, giving new hope to players all over the world that they would be able to recover their pending Full Tilt poker balances and that they would be able to start playing again, this time under the trustworthy management of the world’s largest online poker operation.
According to the same rumors about the acquisition, all players (US as well as offshore) will be refunded in full. Both sites are apparently back online and back in business and both operations have retained their employees. Under the settlement, not only would the two entities keep operating as separate sites, they would both feature their own promotions.

Online poker forums are already abuzz with the news and the discussions that resulted, and while there is a slim chance that this may only prove to be a rumor, thus far it certainly appears to be true. The PokerStars move is indeed a true blockbuster one, at least as unexpected and as significant as the Black Friday events that lead to the closing of Full Tilt Poker.
There are voices out there which claim that US players will be allowed back to play too, but that’s something we definitely cannot currently confirm.

The community is currently divided on whether or not rumors of the takeover are true, but as said above, we are quite certain they indeed are. If they do happen to prove true, just remember: you read it here first.
