PokerStars EPT London – Day 4 report

The penultimate day of the
EPT Season 7 London stop kicked off with 24 players. Chance Kornuth came into the day with the largest stack of chips, his 2.3 million monster stack offering him an advantage of around half a million chips over the second place man.
His seemingly comfortable lead would offer Kornuth no shelter from the attrition though. His large stack quickly migrated from his possession to that of fellow American Kyle Bowker.
Bowker first picked up an A,Ko, and decided to commit on it. Kornuth tagged along with his A,10 and the two players got all their chips into the middle before the flop. A 10 on the flop looked like it was going to spell the end of Bowker’s tournament life, but the K which fell on the turn turned things around giving Bowker a double up and cutting into Kornuth’s lead.
Kornuth obviously couldn’t swallow the pill and a few hands later he was all-in again against Bowker, but this time, he had it even worse than before: his J,10 was up against pocket Ks and the board never even came close to hitting him.
With his lead gone, Kornuth soon dropped the meager remainder of his once mighty stack to bow out in an unimpressive 18th place.
Team PokerStars Pro didn’t fair much better either. Chad Brown busted in 23rd place, his J,10 no match to Robert Nulli’s A,K in his final hand. Joe Hachem got a pretty bad seat and eventually he was indeed bounced by John Juanda, whose A,Ko made short work of Hachem’s A,5o.
Thomas Bichon, the last surviving Team
PokerStars member, was eliminated by John Juanda too when his Q,J fell to Juanda’s A,Q.
Kyle Bowker was the one who eventually clinched the chip lead and held on to it for the day.
