PokerStars EPT Prague – Day 4 report

The 4th day of action saw only 24 players return to the tables of the
PokerStars EPT Prague Main Event. It took this anything but massive field 8 hours to whittle down to the final 8 players who would represent the final table on Day 5.
Due to the fact that most of them came into day 4 of the poker tournament on rather deep stacks, players could afford to take it slowly in the beginning and thus it took more than a level to see the first player go. That player was Boris Yaplonskiy, and he opened up the flow of eliminations.
Bastian Trachte was the next victim at the
EPT Prag. Anthony Roux made a hero call to hit him hard for a huge pot and to send him to the edge of extinction. Trachte could never recover and he hit the rail in 23rd place.
Anthony Lellouche locked horns with start of the day chip leader Eyal Avitan from Israel, who proceeded to hit a set against the Frenchman’s pocket Ks to send him packing in 19th place.
Avitan continued on in the same note and made it to the final table, finishing 4th overall.
Stefan Mattsson made a bad move by shoving all-in on A,Q against Juha Lauttamus’ A,K but Lady Luck came to his aid and bailed him out.
Lauttamus did manage to recover and he doubled up a couple of times to fight his way back into contention. Just when it was starting to look up for him again, he got bounced by Anthony Roux, finishing in 10th place.
The A,Q proved to be a lucky hand from Mattsson once again later on, as he beat Yann Brosolo’s A,K with it to send the once chip leader to the rail in 13th place.
Laurence Ryan had no choice but to stake his poker tournament life on a coin-flip against Kalle Niemi, and what a good choice it proved to be. Lauttamus’ exit set the unofficial final table, but in order for the official one to be reached, another player needed to go. Priyan de Mel became that player, after his flopped flush draw failed to fill up against Stefan Mattsson’s set.
Jan Skampa finished the day with the most chips, followed by Mattsson and Roux. Luca Pagano will be the only one representing Team PokerStars pro at the final table.
