PokerStars EPT Prague – Roberto Romanello wins

The PokerStars EPT’s Prague final table saw a rather peculiar mix of talent get ready for the final run on the 5th day of the event. There were three Italians at the table (plus Roberto Romanello who is probably also of Italian origin), a Russian online pro and a PokerStars Pro (Marcin Horecki) representing Poland. Roberto Romanello was the one who emerged with the win after 9 hours of heated final table action. He bested Emilliano Bono heads-up to take home the €640k top prize.
Roberto Nulli, one of the short-stacks, was the first victim of the final table. He picked up an A,10 and shoved all-in, in an attempt to double up early but got called by Horecki who had pocket Qs. The board gave Horecki a set to seal Nulli’s fate for good.
Nulli’s elimination burst open the floodgates. Manuel Bevand followed him to the payout booth shortly, after which Jan Bendik bowed out too. Bevand had taken a nasty hit on the first hand of the day, so he too was short-stacked when he shoved all-in on a Kd, 2d and got called by Romanello, who had pocket 10s.
The bell tolled for Jan Bendik a few hands later too. Peter Skripka’s pocket 9s held up against his A,K to put him out of action.

Marco Leonzio was the next player to earn a trip to the rail. He got hit by Marcin Horecki and soon after, he got his remaining chips into the middle against Roberto Romanello.
Peter Skripka ran into quite a bit of trouble against Emilliano Bono. He doubled up the Italian and lost another significant pot to him to find himself a short-stack. Marcin Horecki was the one who delivered the final blow to him. Horecki’s elimination in 3rd place set up the all-Italian heads-up stage. The final hand of the event saw Romanello’s pocket 10s triumph over Bono’s A,J.
