PokerStars Radio Back on Air for World Record Attempt

December is here and with it,
PokerStars’ hotly anticipated 10th anniversary celebrations. To kick things off in style, this Sunday, there will be a $1 buy-in MTT, which is aimed at breaking the record for the biggest online poker tournament ever, by accumulating more than 490k registrations – which is the standing record. The event kicks off at 5:30 PM (GMT), but the buzz starts at 5, because the PokerStars Radio will be back on air with a show hosted by Nick Wealthall and Joe Stapleton. This radio show will be much more than your regular poker-chatter though: it will offer special freeroll tickets to newly signed-up players who make their deposits using the bonus code given out in the show. The top 20 finishers in these freerolls gain instant access to the $215 buy-in $10 Million Sunday Million which takes place as soon as the freeroll wraps up on December 18. The prize-pool in this special anniversary edition of the Sunday Million is a guaranteed $10 million, and the winner is guaranteed to receive a $2 million share of it.
Players will be able to call in to the show too, and by doing so they give themselves the chance to take home one of 10 PokerStars Anniversary packages (such packages contain a hat, a t-shirt and a card protector from the PokerStars VIP shop). One lucky caller will even get a Citizen watch.
The PokerStars Radio show hides further value: during the show a special password will be given out, which players will be able to use to register for the $1 Second Chance event. This way, those who fail to cash in the world record event, will get another chance to take down some money.
The Second Chance event takes place on December 4 and on top of the prize-pool, it will also give away 100 $11 tickets for the Sunday Storm which is set to take place on December 11, and which will feature a $1 million prize-pool.
