Those who haven’t created an account at PokerStars for the MicroMillions II haven’t yet missed out on low buy-in, high-reward
online poker tournaments. Hit that ‘register’ or ‘sign up’ link right now because PokerStars have something truly impressive in store come August 12: the PokerStars Red Spade Open.
What’s so special about this tournament – one may ask. Well, for starters it offers a $1 million guarantee, which isn’t an everyday feat by any measure. Of course, there are other events out there offering similarly generous guarantees, but the Red Spade Open is by far the most interesting as it offers by far the best value. The buy-in to the event is a mere $55. Also, there will be scores of PokerStars pros playing, each and every one of whom will carry a bounty of $100. Players can therefore make money in a variety of ways in the event, and all they have to do to double up their buy-ins is to eliminate a PokerStars pro.
Among those who will play in the event are Viktor Blom, Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov.
The event already has quite a history to look back on: last time, around 25,000 players registered for it, combining buy-ins to push the prize-pool right past the guarantee. The winner was guaranteed $200k from the start, but thanks to the overlay, Austria’s crackin-ty, the eventual winner of the tournament, took home $247.3k.
The beautiful thing about the PokerStars Red Spade Open is the fact unlike similar caliber events, it offers low volume players the chance to take down truly significant prizes.
Those interested in playing in this event should head over to out
PokerStars review page and hit register there, following the instructions. The Red Star Open is of course compatible with pretty much every PokerStars promotion currently on offer.
