PokerStars Revives WCOOP Radio

This weekend, PokerStars’ WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) will return to action and in honor of the series, building its previous success,
PokerStars will re-launch the WCOOP Radio. The radio will offer a live coverage of the Series which kicks off on September 2. It will run all the way to September 25. While being kept connected to the events in real time is certainly a nice perk, the reason behind the popularity of the PokerStars Radio last season was a different one: it offered an impressive selection of exclusive promotions which gave players some rather impressive added value.
This year, the radio will again cover events as they unfold at the various WCOOP tables, each day from 20:00 BST, and it will offer even more interactive quizzes, interviews, phone-in opportunities and competitions for players, which will again give away some pretty handsome real money prizes. All-in-all, players will be able to pick up $25k through the various PokerStars Radio events.
The host will be Joe Stapleton who will have Nick Wealthall and Matt Broughton as co-hosts. Also, various members of Team PokerStars Pro and WCOOP winners will join the hosts at various times.
According to Stapleton, PokerStars radio offers a wonderful opportunity to bring the global online poker community together under one roof and to create the right kind of vibe around the WCOOP. The WCOOP will feature 65
poker tournaments offering prizes out of a total pool of $30 million.
Why should people play in the WCOOP? Obviously, because of the wonderful opportunities offered by the Series: the prize-pools are huge, the buy-ins are small-ish and most events feature online qualifiers, through which players can secure their seats for a little bit of spare change.
