PokerStars SCOOP – Day 2 report

Day 2 of the PokerStars’ Spring Championship of Online Poker was a truly eventful one. Event #2, the two-day NL Holdem event which kicked off on day one, continued. Events #3, 4 and 5 were on the schedule as well. At the end of the day, no fewer than 12 players walked away with Champion’s titles and with prizes to match it.
All SCOOP events run by
PokerStars feature 3 different tiers: High, medium and Low. The poker site is obviously keen on offering excitement to players of all material means. Alex Santiago won the High version of Event #2, pocketing $387,720. The $2,000+$100 poker tournament generated a prize-pool of $2.1 million.
The Winner of the medium version of the same event (which featured a buy-in of $200+$15 and a prize-pool of $2 million) was sethsethseth. Due to the high number of participants, he pocketed a very impressive first prize of $280k.
Just a little more expensive than
free poker, the low tier of event #2 featured a buy-in of $20+$2. The 26,200 participants combined buy-ins for a prize-pool of $524k. The winner of the event was bassman122, who took home $44,797 following a 2-way deal at the top.
Event #3 generated 3 champions too. Corey Burbick took home $183k in the high buy-in version of the event. Norm427 walked away with the lion’s share of the dough in the Medium version, pocketing $75.4k following a 5-way deal.
DJ_PissedOFF won the low ($5+$0.5) version of the
poker tournament for a reward of $31.6k . The low buy-in version attracted a field of 24,162 players, and generated a prize-pool in excess of $400k.
In event #4, gibralter11 picked up the dough in the high version. He pocketed $28.2k. In the Medium buy-in version, it was George Danzer’s turn to shine, and so he did to the tune of $10,345.
Hellhound picked up the morsels in the low buy-in tier, following a 2-way deal. He took home $5.7k.
Event #5 crowned another 6-figure winner. Gcnmoo took down $100,000.50 in the high buy-in tournament. Chris Moneymaker finished 3rd in this one, for $55,257.
Joe Serock took the laurels in the Medium event, pocketing $48k.
The small buy-in event, the $10+$1 one, saw Ulett_23 pocket the winner’s share.
