PokerStars SCOOP – Mizzi and Saul win

Day 13 of the PokerStars SCOOP finally saw the ice break for professional players as Sorel Mizzi and Kevin Saul both sailed to titles in various SCOOP events. Events #31, 32 and 33 were on the schedule for the day, with the high buy-in version of the NL Holdem with 1 re-buy and 1 add-on event kicking off the action. The $2,000+$100 buy-in meant that only 236 players would show up for this one. The prize-pool still beat the $1 million mark though. Kevin Saul won the poker tournament, following a 3-way deal at the top, which left $21k for the eventual winner. Everything combined, Saul took home $196,050 and the title. He still fell short of second place man, Adam Sherman’s reward which was exactly $198k.
Chris Dombrowski finished 3rd for $150k.

The medium buy-in version of event #31 went to kuufer. Having avoided any sort of deals at the final table, kuufer pocketed the entire share of the winner, a massive $123,660. A total of 1,595 players showed up for this poker tournament, generating a prize-pool of $753,800.
The low buy-in version of the event gave the eventual winner, fwilliams007, $66,365. The 10,516 players who had registered for the event combined for a prize-pool of $477.060.

Event #32, the $5,000+$2,000 Fixed Limit Holdem 6-max event saw another pro triumph: Sorel Mizzi bested an initial starting field of 79 players (the ultra-high buy-in was pretty restrictive indeed), on his way to a SCOOP title and a $118,500 reward. B00mslang finished 2nd for $79k. A notable finish was that of Anh Van Nguyen, who picked up $15,800 for his 9th place finish.

The medium buy-in version of the event saw Matt Hawrilenko make it all the way to 21st. On account of the low buy-in though, he only picked up $1,608 for his efforts. The winner was juuuiice, who pocketed $42,900. He had to best a starting field of 429 players.
The low buy-in version was won by DonkPredator, who took home $17,688.

Bertrand Grospellier played in the $2,000+$100 NL Omaha Hi/Lo event (event #33) and finished 14th for $5k.
The other two SCOOP champions that the event yielded were Shadow70 (who won $25.7k) and capriole, who pocketed $7.9k for his win in the low buy-in event.
