Poker pros had a field day on day 4 of PokerStars’ WCOOP. Several “name” players made final tables and one of them even managed to take down a bracelet. Among those to make final tables were PokerStars’ own Steve Jacobs and Jason Mercier. While none of these guys managed to get their hands on some WCOOP gold, another
PokerStars pro, Alexander Kostritsyn was much more successful. He won the $1,000+$50 NL Holdem two day event, besting an initial starting field of 1,612 players. The prize-pool was a whooping $1,6 million, of which Kostritsyn pocketed a massive $269k share. No deals were made at the top of this poker tournament, so Kostritsyn basically walked away with the maximum possible haul.
He bested “7Be/\eC7” heads-up. The second-place man collected a $196k prize.
Jaroslow Jaskiewicz finished third for $148k. Even the 4th place man, China_White1 was a 6-figure winner. He (or she) took down $109k.
Notable finishes in the event were those of Rayan Nathan (who ended up 10th) and Andre Akkari (25th).
Event #10, the $250 PLO Knockout event saw its fair share of “name” pros too. Jason Mercier reached 5th place in this
poker tournament, which featured a prize-pool of $74,650. The PokerStars pro took home a reward of $14,631 for his efforts. The eventual winner of the event was nilsef, and he won more than $50k.
Peter Gelencser was another ”name” pro to finish high in this one: he ended up in 11th, winning $2.5k.
Event #11, the $320 NLH ante up tournament, saw 1,789 players belly up to the tables. The top three finishers struck a deal which left the winner, flashdisastr with a $68k share of the $536k prize-pool. Steve Jacobs finished second in this one, for a $66k reward. Michael Goodman ended up in 5th.
