Qualify online to Full Tilt’s FTOPS XVI

As April 23rd draws near, the thoughts of every red-blooded online poker player turn to the FTOPS XVI. The Mini FTOPS series barely over, the FTOPS is another huge money making opportunity looming just over the horizon. The FTOPS kicks off on April 23rd, at 14:00 ET, with the $750k guaranteed. This event is meant to replace the $1 million Guaranteed that filled this slot of the schedule for the last edition. This may be a bit of a downgrade, despite the fact that the overall sum of the guaranteed prize-pools offered by the various events will grow to $18 million, on account of the fact that there will be 30 poker tournaments instead of the 27 we saw last time.

The FTOPS XVI schedule is not final yet, but one thing is obvious even now: none of the events will be cheaper than $100+ the tourney fee to enter. This may be a serious impediment for players on thin bankrolls, and it can even put a serious dent into a healthier bankroll too. This is why it’s so important that one investigate alternative means of earning a seat. Full Tilt Poker offers numerous direct access satellites (each complete with the adjacent sub-satellite structure) to every one of these events. Take event #1, the $750k guaranteed (which is likely to surpass its guarantee yet again). The direct entry for the event costs $200+$16, but there’s a huge direct access satellite taking place the day before, which only costs $50+$5. This poker tournament guarantees a massive 75 seats for the event. There will also be a turbo version of this same satellite which will award players 150 seats.

If you’re looking for a truly huge prize-pool, the $1.25 million guaranteed event on April 25th is sure to tickle your taste buds. The buy-in to this one is $300+$22 though. You can squeeze some awesome value out of it by winning a seat in the event through the $50+$5 satellite that runs the day before and which offers 50 seats, or through the $50+$5 turbo satellite that runs just before the tournament kicks off.
The $2 million guaranteed is the biggest prize-pool event of the series. The entry to this one is $2,000+$100. There are relatively few satellites running, but it is possible to win a seat in it for as little as $600+$40.
