PokerStars’ 10th Anniversary celebrations get better and better by the day for players. There’s more and more free money involved and there’s more and more player interest too. Don’t get us wrong, the events organized by the site to celebrate its milestone 10th anniversary never even carried any trace of stinginess, but we just got word that 2 massive freerolls have been added to the package, together totaling a prize-pool of $600k.
Cash game players will be treated to a leader board promotion which will hand rewards out of a prize-pool of $1 million. That’s not all there is to it though. At the end of the 10-day promotion period, there will be a massive freeroll on December 11, which will feature a prize-pool of $500k.
Each of the ring game levels have their own leader boards, so one shouldn’t worry about not being stacked enough to participate: even the 1c/2c level will have a leader board. Each day, $50k will be distributed among those at the top of these leader boards. Each leader board lasts for 24 hours, after which it is reset to offer other players the chance to grab some of the prize money. In order to get a ticket to the $500k freeroll, all players have to do is to finish in the top 1,000 of any of the leader boards.
To top it all off, PokerStars will run 10 more freerolls, each of which corresponds to a year from the 10-year history of the site. Everyone will be eligible to play in these freerolls, depending on when he/she has registered with PokerStars. Each of these events offers a $10k prize-pool, which means that the total for these freerolls is $100k. The grand total with the above described $500k freeroll is $600k. The maximum prize-pool that individual players will be able to compete for is $510k.
The Trivia Tournaments represent yet another nice addition to the mix.
