Not so long ago, the only way for poker players and interested parties could gain information from some of the high profile live
poker tournaments taking place in various spots around the globe, was to keep their eyes on poker portals and the news in general, waiting for someone to report the noteworthy moments of the poker tournaments. That fortunately is no longer the case. For the first time in the history of the European Poker Tour, players can watch the events streamed live onto their computer and mobile device screens, and we are not talking about some shabby feed either. EPTLive,
PokerStars’ own live streaming service, is by no means a second-rate outfit. This live streaming experience is indeed as state-of-the-art as they come. The €10,600 Main Event of the EPT’s Monte Carlo stop for instance, is streamed in its entirety and the €100,000 Super High Roller, which kicks off on May 13, will be streamed from beginning to end as well. Both of these events offer great opportunities for everyone interested to see some of poker's biggest names in action at the green felt.
To add to the viewing pleasure, EPTLive will stream the final tables cards-up. As we said above, the production values of the live stream feed are nothing to balk at either. English commentary will be supplied by Joe Stapleton, Matt Broughton and James Hartigan. Every now and then, some of the pros will join the commentary, offering a unique expert’s view of the given situation.
In addition to the above said events, EPTLive will cover some of the higher stakes cash games too. Team PokerStars Pro members will be available for live Q&A sessions.
To top it all off, PokerStars are offering a mobile app, which will allow those interested to watch the proceedings on the go.
