The Online Poker Weekend – Calvin Anderson among Winners

online poker tournament action was yet again hot over the weekend. Scores of players showed up for the weekend majors at PokerStars as well as at
Full Tilt Poker and several “name” competitors managed to battle their way to the top of various tournaments.
Calvin Anderson was one of these pros: he won PokerStars’ Sunday Supersonic hands down. Ozgur Arda on the other hand won the Sunday Warm-Up. Another “name” player who pulled off a win was Dimitar Yosifov, whose triumph came in the Sunday 500.
The biggest event was yet again the Sunday Million though. 7,410 players showed up for this one, combining buy-ins to create a $1,482,000 prize-pool, once again leaving the $1 million guarantee square in the dust.
The winner of the event was the biggest winner of the weekend. A player known as Pr0fiteer took home the top prize of $222.3k after no deals were made at the top. The runner-up was kingrama3, who collected $163.5k. Only one other player finished with a 6-figure prize: 3rd place man EZGrind ended up taking home $118.5k for his efforts. Although notables seem to have enjoyed excellent weekends, in the biggest major there weren’t any such players in the top 10. The highest-finishing “name” player was Stavros Kalfas, whose 24th place was worth $3.4k.
As said above, the Sunday Warm-Up was won by Ozgur Arda. Arda bested a strating field of 3,309 players to take down a $98.9k prize, after a 3-way deal at the top. Nobody managed to take home a 6-figure prize.
Pratyush Buddiga managed a deep run in this event, finishing 11th for $3.9k.
The Sunday Supersonic offered a guarantee of $125k, but the resulting prize-pool was a $276.1k one.
Calvin Anderson won this one, taking down $49.8k. Chris Hunichen finished 4th for $20.7k.
