The Online Poker Weekend – Carlos Sanchez Biggest Winner

During the weekend, the online majors came to the forefront of the poker action yet again. Once again, the biggest tournament of the weekend was
PokerStars’ Sunday Million, which drew a starting field of 8,024 players, generating a prize-pool of $1.6 million, clearly shaming its initial $1 million guarantee.
No fewer than 4 players emerged with 6-figure scores from the
poker tournament, and another one came close to making the 6-figure club too, due to a 6-handed deal at the top, which ended up producing some rather skewed results.
Thus, the biggest online poker winner of the weekend was Carlos Sanchez, whose deal-making skills far outshone his luck at the final table: he finished 5th, taking down a $195.8k prize. The player who got the worst of the deal by far was eventual 3rd place finisher whitey714, who ended up with $71.4k.
The winner of the event was a player known as “Zabry” who took home $151.6k for his efforts.
Runner-up “t6rdur” finished with $103k, while 4th place man “timmybwee” took down a nice score of $115.7k too.
Liv Boeree played in the event too: she finished 27th, taking home $3.5k for her efforts.
In contrast with the Sunday Million, the Sunday Warm-Up failed to create any 6-figure winners. 3,735 players bellied up to the tables of this event, creating a prize-pool of $747k. The winner was Robby Lipkin, who should probably have taken down a 6-figure prize too, had he not ended up somewhat short-changed by a 3-way deal at the top, which eventually left him with $98.5k. David Peters was the deepest finishing notable in the tournament: he took home a $1.9k prize for his 21st place.
Full Tilt Poker’s $350k Guaranteed was won by Rory Matthews, who took down $74.2k.
