This weekend was quite special at
PokerStars: as part of their special Double Vision promotion, PokerStars offered all their weekend majors twice. What resulted was a tournament frenzy, which left no fewer than 8 players with 6-figure hauls. The biggest winner of the weekend was the winner of the first Sunday Million, Akademnuk, who took home $219,425 for his efforts.
The
poker tournament drew a starting field of 8,027 players. The resulting prize-pool was a $1,605,400 one. No fewer than 3 players managed to climb into 6-figure territory in this one.
There was a two way deal at the top which saw Akademnuk walk away with the above said sum. The runner-up was Kabira, who took home $197,982. The third-place finisher, Sebastian Bauer, ended up taking down $120.4k.
Other notables who finished deep were Adam Levy and Felipe Ramos, who finished 27th and 11th respectively.
The second Sunday Million saw 5,957 players belly up to its tables. The resulting prize-pool was a $1,191,400 one. This event saw 2 more 6-figure winners added to the tally. This time, there was a 6-way deal at the top. The winner was Joao Marcelo Andrade. He picked up $147,223 for his efforts. Wes Farrell came in second, pocketing $126,468. There were other notables too who finished deep: Michael Friedrich made the top 10, while Ryan Julius ran out of steam in 11th place.
The Sunday Warm-Up saw 4,065 players belly up to the tables. The winner of the event, Kevin Sharp, was one of two 6-figure finishers. Sharp struck a two-way deal with eventual runner-up 777xyz777, who ended up taking home $108.2k. The second edition of the Sunday Warm-Up created a 6-figure winner as well. Max Weinberg won this one, after a 2-way deal at the top, taking home $114.1k.
