The Online Poker Weekend – Marcel Luske Among Winners

Another weekend is in the books and another batch of weekend major winners has earned its stripes at PokerStars’ tournament tables. Once again, the biggest winner of the weekend was the winner of PokerStars’ Sunday Million. A player only known by the online moniker KOLOKOS won the big one, making no deals and taking no prisoners on his way to the $223.4k top prize. The poker tournament drew a staring field of 7,449 players, who combined buy-ins for a $1.48 million prize-pool.
KOLOKOS defeated “fish2013” heads-up for the win. The highest finishing “name” player in the event was Jonathan Peacock, who picked up $119.1k for his 3rd place.
Alex Kostritsyn made a relatively deep run as well: he finished 11th for an $8.1k haul.

The Sunday Warm-Up saw 3,338 players belly up to its tables. The resulting prize-pool was a $733.6k one, putting the $500k guarantee to shame.
The winner of the tournament was none other than Marcel Luske, who bested a player known as “geirto” heads-up. Luske’s run to the top wasn’t quite as clean-cut as that of the Sunday Million winner: there was a 4-way deal at the top, which meant that despite his win, Luske wasn’t the one to take down the biggest prize in the event. The biggest reward went to 4th place finisher Matthias Tikerpe, who pocketed $82.1k. Third place finisher Aussie_star1 took home slightly more money too: his share of the loot was $75.1k. Luske was rewarded with $75k for his efforts.
Thanks to the deal, there were no 6-figure winners in the event. None of the other majors resulted in any 6-figure winners either. Maria Ho made a deep run in the PokerStars Bigger $162, taking down $12.6k for her 5th place finish.
