The Online Poker Weekend – nebo_blizko Wins Sunday Million

Various high and low buy-in weekend guarantees have yet again made quite a few people significantly richer over the weekend. PokerStars’ Sunday Million was obviously the one awarding the highest prizes yet again. No fewer than 3 players walked away with 6-figure prizes in this poker tournament. A total of 6,397 players coughed up the $215 buy-in for the event, generating a prize-pool of $1,279,400. This meant that the winner, an online player known by the moniker ‘nebo_blizko’ took home $184.4k, despite the 2-way deal he made with runner-up ChaseTh3Ace. The second place man ended up taking home $154.1k. The third 6-figure reward went to Elina2008, who finished third for $102.3k, having struck no deals of any sort.

The Sunday Warm-Up generated a hefty prize-pool as well. 3,094 players showed up for this event, combining buy-ins to create a $616.8k prize-pool. The winner, undaDISGUISE, took down the lion’s share of it, not sharing it with anyone else through deals or in any other way. Still, at $97.1k, his haul fell just short of the $100k mark. The runner-up, Ozenc Demir, took home $72.3k. Two notables finished within the top 10 as well: Sergey Rybachenko ended up in 4th place, taking home $35.5k for his efforts, while Kevin Sharp finished 8th, for $7.7k.
None of the other major weekend events generated 6-figure winners. A noteworthy accomplishment was Krisztina Polgar’s 2nd place finish in the bigger $55. Polgar fell heads-up to a player known as ‘Pasiu’, who ended up taking down the top prize of $39.6k. Polgar was rewarded with $29.4 for her efforts.
The Sunday Storm saw a massive 7-way deal at the top. The eventual winner of the event took home $22.7k, while the other 6 players divided the remainder of the spoils among them. Interestingly enough, the second biggest winner in the event was 7th place finisher Rooney23, who took down $13.1k.
