The Online Poker Weekend - Nicolas Cardyn Wins Sunday Million

As far as the weekend majors were concerned, the online poker action steamed ahead as usual last week, as a massive starting field descended on PokerStars' Sunday Millions. Indeed, 7,000 players put up the buy-in for the event, creating a prize-pool of $1.4 million, once again surpassing the guarantee by a handy margin. Needless to say, the winner of the Sunday Million became the biggest tournament winner of the weekend at PokerStars too: poker pro Nicolas Cardyn was part of a 3-way deal at the top, but he still ended up taking down $182k. The other two players who took part in the deal were "spenny32" and DuTTiFruTTi9, who ended up taking home $151k and $143k respectively. Other than the winner of course, the highest finishing notable in the event was Leo Cheng, who finished in 6th place, picking up a $43.4k reward for his efforts.
Play at PokerStars and take part in their weekend majors. Events like the Sunday Million carry enormous value and they are immensely popular with players.

Besides the regular cast of Sunday tournaments, the MicroMillions Main Event took place as well. It drew a starting field of 59,648 players, generating a prize-pool of $1.2 million. The eventual winner of the event, "BgsaPnaples", took down a $110k haul.
None of the other weekend majors resulted in any 6-figure winners. At Full Tilt Poker on the other hand, the FTOPS XXVIII Main Event created no fewer than 3 such winners. With 1,260 players taking part, and with a resulting prize-pool of $1.19 million, the tournament's winner, Mustapha Kanit, was the biggest winner across the board too, with a haul of $239.4k. Kanit bested a player known as "dunphi" heads-up. The runner-up's share of the prize-pool was $159.4k. BooBoo825 finished 3rd, taking down $113.7k. There were no deals made in the tournament.
